All the while, people are mysteriously disappearing, including Jared, who Mina must finally determine to be friend or foe. And with the loss of her greatest weapon, Mina must try to outwit a deadly hunter. Or will she become a pawn when she strikes a bargain with the Queen of Fae?

Review:

In the second book in the Unfortunate Fairy Tale Series, "Fairest", we get to see the characters, Mina, Brody, Nan, and Jared again.

Again the story plays with the characters personalities but Mina's still has a bit of self pity about her. We are emerged into a few other Grimm fairy tales and Mina has to go on her quest to continue to break the curse.

We meet Brody's cousin, Peter who is the lead in a band. At first he just seems like a typical rock star who thinks he is god’s gift to man, but then we realize he is being played throughout the book too. So again, we’re not getting their true personality. We are getting the personality the Story wants is to see.

Throughout the book, Mina's self-pity get a little annoying again, she gets herself in trouble for one of the fairy tales. When she finally receives helps from an unlikely foe, she is able to overcome the mess she made.

Things don't end the way she wants them to though. She is left feeling just as jealous as she originally was. She finally starts to put pieces of the puzzle together and knows what she has to do. After she makes a challenge we are left with questions. What does this mean? Will her friends be used again? Will she lose the friend she made in Jared? It'll be interesting to see where Chanda takes the next book!
