Crash into You by Katie McGarry

Crash into You
Author: Katie McGarry
Published: November 26th, 2013

Summary:

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life—that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker—a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks—no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

Review:

Omg my feels! I was an emotional wreck at the end of the book. I couldn't believe what I had read! I haven’t truly cried at the end of a book in a long time!

On another note, Holy action! I absolutely loved all the car action in the book. This book was about Isaiah. This was Isaiah’s turns to show that he wasn't just that bad ass that hung out in the background. I was happy to see that he finally got his love story like Noah and Beth. He finally got his happily ever after. Isaiah’s first love is cars until he meets Rachel. Rachel is a girl who is living in the shadow of someone that she never met. She unfortunately has to hide her true self to make her family happy. For Rachel, she also loves cars. Her own car is known as ‘her baby’. I know a few things about cars but if I really focused on it I think I would be like Rachel. She doesn't want to be that girlie girl. She wants to be able to walk out into her garage and work on her car without getting shit for doing it.

We first met Isaiah in “Pushing the Limit”. He just seemed like a regular junkie foster kid that was just there to be there for his friend Noah. In “Dare You To” we see a little bit more of him and who he is. We see that in a way he’s more of a protector than anything, plus that he truly does have feelings. In “Crash Into You”, we finally see that when the right girl comes, he’s not only the protector. He begins to truly care and fall for her. When he first met Rachel, his first instinct is to protect her in every way. He wants to get her out of the environment that they were in without her getting her. When he realizes that there was more to Rachel his feelings start to get the best of him. Slowly, he starts to let his feeling take over and against his judgment he starts to fall for someone who should be untouchable to him.

When we meet Rachel she is about to give a speech even though she suffers from panic attacks when she does it. She doesn't want to give the speech but she is doing it for her family. She is doing it to make them happy. She unfortunately is living in the shadow of someone that she never met. Nothing that she does is ever good enough for her family and she has to be worried about being overprotected by the four older brothers that she has. She’s the type of girl that is living a life that she wouldn't truly choose for herself. She wants to be able to just work on her car when she wants, go driving when she wants, and she wants to not worry about if her family is going to be disappointed when or if she breathes wrong.

When the two of them meet it wasn't an instant spark but there was something there. The two of them get themselves in a bind and they are determined to get each other out of it. Isaiah wants to do nothing but get Rachel out of it without her getting hurt and Rachel is determined to help whether Isaiah wants her too or not. The ending will shock you and make you cry but it shows that when you love someone you’ll do anything for them, you will make sure that you are always there for them and Isaiah and Rachel proved that.

I cannot wait for the next novel in this series and to read more about Rachel's brother, West
