The ending of this
series was so bittersweet. Breathe was the first book I read by Abbi Glines and
I’ve followed this series all the way through. To say I loved this book would
be an understatement. I couldn’t put this book down. Abbi Glines did not
disappoint at all with this final chapter. The emotions throughout left you
wanting more and more. Ending this series with Rock and Trisha’s story was the
best thing to do.
This story
started with Rock and Trisha. Trisha and Krit (her brother) live in a shell of
a home. Worried for their well-being, Trisha made sure that her brother could have
what he needed before doing things for herself. She cared more for his
well-being than her own. Trisha always tried to stay in the shadows, not
drawing attention to herself; however, Rock always saw her. He made it a point
to see her.
Rock knew there
was something about Trisha that he just needed to be a part of. Rock was always
disappointed that she turned him down, but when he finally learns about her
home life from her brother Krit, things change. Rock makes it his business to
protect her. He makes sure that she is taken care of. What we learn about in
their story is how rough his home life was. We learn what he really threw away
by taken care of Trisha, but you wanna know what? He didn’t care. He knew that
Trisha was it for him. He went above and beyond to make her life better. He was
the hero she was waiting for.
After learning of
Rock and Trisha’s story, we got a small epilogue for every couple in the Sea
Breeze Series. I thought these were a great addition to the end of this story.
It helped to add a little bit more to the existing couples and where they were
now. It let us see how they were after ‘growing up’. I had many favorite parts
in this book. My absolute favorite… the final two words from the last epilogue.
All one could hope is that it means what we may think it means!
After finishing this book, I had a to take a few days to think: "Wow... what a magnificent ending". This series is a
must read and anybody would be able to fall in love with these characters. All
of these books are easy reads and you won’t be disappointed at all.
