Excerpt:

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Max gave me a tender shove. “We were fine until you started stepping on my foot and elbowing me!”

“You were hitting on my mom!”

“She’s a beautiful lady!” he argued.

“Oh, my gosh.” I fell into one of the chairs and moaned. “This is a catastrophe.”

“Not true.” Max shook his head. “You just have to be more believable. I mean,
would it kill you to find me screw-worthy?”

“Screw-worthy? What does that even mean?”

“That’s it.” Max grabbed my hand and pulled me down the hall. “Where’s the
bathroom?”

“Uh . . .” I pointed.

With a jerk he had me in the bathroom under the stairs and closed the door. Words and sounds were coming out of his mouth but I couldn’t make anything out. Max pushed me against the door and pointed his finger in my face. “I’m going to kiss you, damn it, and you’re going to like it. And I’m going to take off my shirt and you’re going to manhandle me, and you’re going to stop being so damn nervous or so help me God I’m going to bend you over that sofa in the living room and spank your sexy ass.”

Shocked, I was paralyzed in place. “Where did that come from?”

“Inside.” Max looked at me and smirked. “I have lots of feelings and I’m sick and tired of you looking at me like I don’t have a penis. I may be used to your innocence but for my own pride at least try to be attracted to me. Now close your damn eyes.”

“Stop cursing at me.”

“Stop being difficult! I’m trying to help you. And stop squirming. Shit, take a Xanax or something.”

“Max.” I closed my eyes and huffed. “This isn’t going to—”

My hand was on something hard.

I blinked my eyes open.

Since when did he have a six-pack?

I tilted my head, you know, to get a better look. His skin was really smooth but bumpy, each muscle defined so much that there was enough of a ridge for my hands to play with.

“Oh, look, he’s a man after all,” Max said, sounding bored. “I’m not your sexless friend. I’m not your damn brother. I’m not your gay friend. And I sure as hell am not thinking about anything right now except that your hands feel really good against my skin. So I’m going to kiss you, and you’re going to respond like the idea of my mouth on yours doesn’t make you want to cry—and you’ll like it.”

“I’ll like it,” I repeated.

“There’s my girl.” His eyes flashed, and then he was kissing me again, only this time his body was on fire as it pressed against me. I felt every ridge of his abs; the length of his body was beyond devastating.

Excerpt:

I pulled the Nova to a stop in front of a duplex that had clearly seen better days. It wasn't a rusted-out trailer in Kentucky, but it might as well have bee. I turned off the ignition and sat back in the seat so I could turn to look at Ayden. She was watching me carefully and I could see how frustrated she was with the entire conversation in the way her shoulders were tensed up and the way her hands had curled into tight balls on her lap. It was the way she used to look whenever I got into trouble and she had to do something desperate and drastic to get me out of it. I reached out a hand and put it on top of her fists.

"I died in that hospital, Ayd. There were no angels playing harps. There was no redemption and repentance. I died and it was very clear that I was going to get exactly the kind of fate I had been courting with all the messed-up shit I had been doing to out people. All I could see was every wrong I had ever committed and ever bad decision I had ever made exploding all around me. For once I could see how all of that affected you. I was dying, and I knew what was waiting for me on the other side, yet I couldn't go knowing that was all you were going to have to remember me by. I had to come back and give you something else to hold on to, some kind of good memory to with the endless miles of bad I laid at your feet. I wanted to have the chance to show you I could be the kind of brother you deserved all along, so no, I didn't save myself -- you saved me. Just like you've always done for my entire life."

I saw her bottom lip tremble until she snapped her teeth around it to keep it still. Her fists unclenched below my palm and she curled her shaking fingers around my hand and her already husky voice rasped with even more emotion when she told me what I think I had needed to hear from her all along.

"I have always been proud that you're my brother, Asa. Yes, there have been times in the past I would have gladly fed you to the wolves, and it's no secret that I had to leave home because I didn't know what to help you anymore, but we both made it out alive and are better people for it. I know you're sorry for the way things went down when we were younger, but I need you to open your eyes and take some credit for the way you turned it around to make things the way they are now. I've long since come to terms with the Asa from my childhood. What I want to do is love the Asa that's here with me now. You need to let go of those boulders weighted with all the bad things from the past that are dragging you down before you get crushed under them."

It was eerily similar to what Royal had been telling me the deeper and deeper I sank in with her. I don't think I was ready to let any part of those stones go just yet, but a sexy redhead was slowly and surely eroding bits and pieces of the rock the more and more time I spent with her. By the time she was done, maybe she would be able to carve out something that was worthwhile, something that didn't eviscerate me to look at.

I leaned over enough that I could kiss Ayden right on the center of her forehead between her midnight eyebrows and I felt her let out a shuddering sigh.

"I'm never going to let you down again, Ayd. That is the one and only thing in the entire world that I can promise and know it's a promise I will keep."

We stared at each other for a long and silent moment. The seriousness of the words I had sad to her and the fact that I could see that she understood that I really, truly meant them finally worked to absolve me of some of the guilt that seemed to suffocate me whenever i thought about the things she had done to keep me safe.

Review and Excerpt: Fall with Me by Jennifer L Armentrout

I had the pleasure of reading an early copy of this book and I absolutely loved it!!! I’ve read every book in the WITH ME series and I have never been let down. Reece and Roxy were awesome characters. He definitely has taken a special place in my book boyfriend category. You will not be disappointed with this book.

Fall with ME
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: March 31st, 2015

FALL WITH ME Synopsis:

Eleven months ago, bartender and weird-shirt-wearing extraordinaire Roxy and Officer Reece Anders had a one night stand. Well, kind of. She’s been in love with him since she was fifteen, and he wishes that night they shared never happened. She’s sworn him off forever, but the past and future collide, forcing her to rely on the one man who broke her heart not once, but twice.

Her best friend since birth has been in a long-term care facility since he became a victim of a hate crime years ago, and the person who put him in there is out of prison and wanting to make amends with him and Roxy. She’s not sure she has room for forgiveness in her and when she begins to receive frightening messages and is on the receiving end of escalating violence, she thinks she knows who is to blame. The man who already destroyed one life already.

But Reece isn’t convinced. The threats are too personal, and even if Roxy doesn’t believe him, he’s not willing to let anyone hurt her. Including himself. He’s already messed up more than once when it comes to Roxy and he’s not going to let history repeat itself.

Review:

I’ve read all the books in this series and I have never been let down. Each of these books has their own bit of flare and draws you in. Each of these books are connected in some way and you can see the other characters from the prior books. Jennifer switched it up with this book and it was a nice little changed. Reece and Roxy’s story was steamy, romantic, suspenseful, and was an emotional journey. I loved Reece in Stay with Me. He was a curious character. Roxy was fun and enjoyable in Stay with me, and she was even more enjoyable in Fall with Me.

Roxy is snarky, quick witted, fun and has an attitude to boot. I loved it. We find out that Roxy has loved Reece since she was a teenager. Reece is quiet and protective. He protects the ones he loves and will do everything he can to make sure they are safe.

When they have a one night stand a year ago, things get shady between the two of them. Reece tries to ignore it, Roxy is hurt by his blatant disregard for the night, but also feels relief. She tries distancing herself from her, but then strange things start to happen. She tries to handle it on her own, but with Reece being a cop, he learns about it without her telling him. She slowly involves him and he is determined to keep her safe. Truths unfold and its hard to tell whether or not they should have been in a left alone.

Before we learn about the creepy things happening to Roxy, we see the guilty and sadness she is filled with for best friend whose life was more or less stolen from him. One mistake led to hardship and heartache and Roxy feels nothing but blame for what happened. She proves what a loyal friend she is making sure to visit Charlie every week no matter what.

I loved everything about this story. It continued moving at a fast pass and left you wanting more as it continued moving. Roxy and Reece had such good chemistry between the two of them. You got to feel the romance and loving nature between the two and the steaminess between them was on point. Jennifer Armentrout knows how to write a book and no matter what, if I’m in a slump or for just whatever, I know I can pick up one of her books and I’ll be good to go! You’ll love this book from beginning to end!

FALL WITH ME Excerpt:

There was a county cruiser parked next to my car and there was a really freaking hot cop propped against the passenger side, long legs crossed at the ankles and arms folded across a yummy chest.

Reece was waiting.

I wasn’t really thinking about my list of priorities as I stared at him in the dimly lit parking lot. The muggy night air settled over me as he unfolded his legs and pushed off the cruiser. My gaze roamed over him. I was really just thinking about how the polyester material of his work pants moved along his thighs.

God, he walked with the kind of lethal grace that should be illegal.

Nick leaned in and whispered in my ear, “And right there is the main reason why I wouldn’t get with you.”

I tripped over my feet.

“Hey man.” Nick clapped Reece on the shoulder as he strolled past him. “Have a good night. See you Wednesday, Roxy.”

“Bye-bye.” I didn’t take my eyes off Reece. What was he doing here, at two thirty in the morning? It wasn’t the first time I’d stepped out of the bar late at night and found Reece waiting. Back before “the night thou shalt not repeat,” he used to do it every once in a while, when he was working the night shift and was taking lunch.

But it was something I hadn’t expected him to do again.

The sound of Nick’s motorcycle rumbling to life echoed throughout the otherwise silent parking lot. I needed to say something, because we were standing there, a few feet between us, staring at one another. “Hi.”

Well, that was spectacular.

One side of his lips kicked up as his gaze dipped. “What . . . ?” He laughed, and there was a flutter deep in my belly, like a nest of butterflies had suddenly taken flight.

“What does your shirt say?”

I glanced down, trying to stop the smile tugging at my lips. “It says ‘Ladies’ Man.’ What’s wrong with that?”

Long, thick lashes lifted and then he laughed again, that nice and light laugh that wrapped around me. “You are . . . you’re something else, Roxy.”

Shifting my weight from one foot to the next, I bit down on my lip. “I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a run-in-the-other-direction kind of thing.”

He took one step closer, his arms loose at his sides—his right arm brushing against the handle of his duty gun. The star on his chest seemed shinier than possible, and was eye level with me. “It’s . . . yeah, it’s a good thing.”
